Discovery & Consultation

Every project begins with understanding you, your lifestyle, aspirations, budget, and how you use the space. During the consultation, there is assessment of the existing room, discussion of requirements, identifying opportunities and constraints, and establishing a clear design brief.

A Collaborative Process

It is important to allow the design process to evolve over a number of weeks. As the project develops, new information, ideas, and practical considerations often emerge, which may influence the direction of the design. For this reason, refinements and adjustments are a natural part of the early stages and should be expected.

Open and honest communication is key throughout the process, enabling the designer to gain a thorough understanding of the client's lifestyle, preferences, priorities, and aspirations before final decisions are made. This collaborative approach helps ensure the finished design is not only visually cohesive, but also genuinely reflects the people who live within it.

Concept Development

Drawing inspiration from your personality, lifestyle, and the unique character of your home, I develop the overall design concept. This stage explores the mood, atmosphere, colour direction, and design narrative that will shape the project.

Mood Boards & Material Selection

The concept is translated into visual mood boards, colour palettes, and material selections. Furniture styles, textures, finishes, fabrics, artwork, and decorative elements are carefully curated to create a cohesive scheme.

Space Planning & Technical Drawings

Scaled floor plans, furniture layouts, and wall elevations are developed to ensure the space functions efficiently and feels balanced. Consideration is given to circulation, focal points, furniture positioning, lighting placement, and existing architectural features.

Lighting & Electrical Layout

Lighting placement, switch positions, socket locations, and power outlet requirements are considered in relation to the proposed layout and how the space will be used. These drawings provide design intent and guidance only, with all final electrical works to be reviewed, confirmed, and carried out by a qualified electrician.

Design Specification & Sourcing

Furniture, lighting, accessories, artwork, and decorative elements are selected and specified. Clients receive a detailed sourcing schedule with recommendations, dimensions, links, and specifications to support implementation.

Final Design Presentation

The completed design is presented as a comprehensive package, bringing together the concept, layouts, elevations, mood boards, visuals, lighting guidance, and specifications. This provides a clear roadmap for implementing the design with your chosen contractors, suppliers, and tradespeople.

Additional consultation services can be arranged to liaise with your chosen contractors, suppliers, and tradespeople, helping to ensure the design intent is clearly understood and implemented as envisioned.
